8" & 10" - 34' Top Drive Augers
Art’s Way Manufacturing Inc. has established a portable grain auger manufacturing plant in Salem, SD. Models for this first year of production include two sizes of driveline augers and five sizes of augers with rolling hoppers.
All models are available painted white or hot dipped galvanized. Hot dip galvanizing is a unique process in the auger industry. Art’s Way welds the auger tube with all brackets in bare steel. The welded tube is then sent to a state-of-the-art galvanizing facility where the entire tube is cleaned, prepared and finally galvanized. This process provides a “self-healing” coating 3 to 10 mils thick.
8” and 10”-34’ Driveline Augers are offered with PTO or electric drive and are constructed of 12 ga. tube. The 8” auger has 7 ga. flighting and the 10” auger has ¼” flighting. These heavy duty augers have a reversible gear box which permits PTO operation from either side. The sealed head assembly is grease packed at the factory and enclosed for continuous lubrication and weather proofing. Four bearings in the head cap carry the load. The discharge spout features a standard relief door. The guarded intake cage sports a removable clevis tow hitch. One pin removes the tow hitch for use in hoppers and cramped areas. The auger is raised and lowered with a hand crank winch.
All Augers with Rolling Hoppers are constructed from 12 ga. tube and ¼” flighting. They are double flighted in high wear areas in the hopper and drive section. These augers feature internal drive with externally mounted gear boxes for proper venting and easier maintenance. The CV power shaft with shear clutch provides a smooth drive and overload protection.
The 10” Auger with Rolling Hopper is raised with a hydraulically driven worm winch lift. The 12” Auger with Rolling Hopper is raised with a hydraulic cylinder lift. The discharge spout features a standard relief door.
About the Rolling Hopper – This low profile hopper has an adjustable clearance height of 10-3/4”, 12-1/4” and 13-3/4”. The hopper opening on 10” models is 60”Lx32”W; it is 60”Lx48”W on 12” models. It may be operated and transported on the right or left side of the auger. It features a mechanically driven internal drive with pneumatic tires and rubber flex extension. A Power Wheel kit for lateral movement of the hopper is available for the 12” hopper.
A 3’ flex spout is available for both the 10” and 12” Augers.
