Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this person will be responsible for the design, development, and quality of manufacturing processes within the plant. They will contribute as part of the engineering team, and will take responsibility for technical problem solving, leading project teams, creatively meeting product objectives, and delegating tasks when appropriate.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Designs and modifies production processes in the plant.

  • Develops and maintains a working knowledge Art’s Way equipment.

  • Communicates well within the Engineering Department and production staff.

  • Maintains documentation from prints to parts books and manuals

  • Assists in the creation of fixtures and work instructions.

  • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.

  • The tasks listed above are not intended to limit other tasks that might reasonably be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • Applicant must be a student pursuing an Engineering Degree

  • 0-1 years of experience working with agricultural equipment is preferred.

  • Excellent verbal communication and , practical “hands-on” knowledge of mechanical components and systems

  • 0-1 years of experience working with agricultural equipment is preferred.

  • 1 year of experience, or equivalent coursework, with 3D modeling software (Solidworks/Pro-E) is required.
